Default Yes ANOTHER shifter poll but only two options...

Ok I wanna hear first-hand reviews on only these two shifters..... I don't know which one to get...I hear rumors that the pro 5.0 is noisy and wears out but the hurst and not as good......I dunno ....

I plan on drag racing this car once in a while so I want the best shifter for "WOT shifts".....Sixspeedsinc is sending back my tranny as I type this so I want to get the most life out of it.....

I currently have the stock hust shifter I believe...(2002 WS6) with the WS6 store short stick...I dont like how it is a pain to get it into 6th and reverse....maybe cause the WS6 store stick it straight and not angled like every other stick i've seen on the market.....I have a UMI angled short stick on the way.....so I have a few options to play with once I choose which shifter to buy....

My biggest question of all is:

Are these shifters worth the money and are they that much better than the factory Hurst shifter???

I had a pro5.0 and hated it I like to shift fast and smooth not have to bang the gears. I now have the SLP and it is much better.

I have the Pro 5.0. It is much more notchy than the factory shifter, but the shifts are very short. It is a great WOT shifter.

I just installed the hurst billet plus. I haven't been able to test it at WOT because I just installed a new clutch and I am still breaking it in. As for the hurst billet plus in standard driving it feels much more refined than the stock hurst shifter. My stocker always felt sloppy and the hurst billet plus is everything but slopy. The throw from 2nd to 3rd and from 4th to 5th are both a lot easier and shorter than stock, and now they both feel the same while on the stocker the throw from 4th to 5th was different than the throw from 2nd to 3rd. So far I am pleased with the shifter and I can't wait to start power-shifting it again when my clutch is broken in.

People are just going to say whatever they have. I have a P5 with Lou's Short Stick. Test drove a car with it an loved it. Still do. HUGE difference between it and stock, and I'm nt the type to get hyped up about little things. However, I've never driven a car with a Rippper. Maybe I'd like it even better.

What about the hurst shifter boot that it comes with??? Doesn't it interfere with the stock rubber boot that is bolted down to the body???
