anyone with a ls7 clutch using a lightweight flywheel ??

Hello Jim,

Thank you so much for sharing this def will safe me some work there great appreciated sir!

I just installed this tonight brand new flywheel with brand new ls7 clutch disk an Pressure plate. Gotta drop it all back in tomorrow morning.

Its an aluminum gen iv 5.3 block punched out to 7.0 427 with some darton dry sleeves.

Cant wait to see how she revs. :-)

Hey Jim are you talking about making these adjustments in the Red area or the blue or both?

Mine's a '98 so it doesn't have as many tables, and these were recommendations sourced from another forum member. For the adaptive:


For the idle spark advance, look for Engine > Advance > Idle Spark Advance > In Park (ECM 12611) and In Drive (ECM 12610). In both tables, I set 0 & 400RPM to all 32*, and 1200 & 1600RPM to all 18*.

Thank You Jim for sharing again. Im definitely going to give this a shot. I have a feeling I may need to tweak it somemore. And def not really following the last step of adding the 1gs to airflow table that seems like it would do nothing at all. But hey i could be wrong! This gives me a starting point at least so thank you.

It is very difficult to get a SFI or FIA rating on a lot of lightweight flywheels,
if I was running one there would be a blanket around that bell housing..
