What is wrong with this SPEC clutch?

What is wrong with this SPEC clutch? I pulled the clutch apart and I found no fluid seepage, everything was dry. Got the clutch plate off and the material surface was broken up. Not smooth across the whole surface like a brake pad. It looks like the material was literally riped off in places. My clutch was slipping at the track because it didn't have much material surface contacting the flywheel.

Re: What is wrong with this SPEC clutch? It is the carbon disk and blue pressure plate. The instructions from SPEC just said make sure you have GM parts for the slave and master. I made sure my part numbers matched - in fact I had the wrong slave and had to get the one matching the GM part number they listed. Then their instructions said install per the GM instructions for stock.

Re: What is wrong with this SPEC clutch? Talked with David at SPEC. The pressure plate I have is self adjusting. Between that and the carbon pads the breakage occurred - the clutch PP was not adjusted correctly. They stopped making these in January. What I got from TR was old stock. As of January they have a new PP that is not self adjusting and new carbon pad material and shim.
They took my credit card, billed me for a new PP and clutch plate. Are sending me that one and then when I return the old stuff they will reimburse my credit card. I could have just sent them the old stuff and would not have had to had my credit card billed but I need their packaging to send the stuff back.
The shim is part of the new setup and was not part of what the model I had.
