Default street n strip clutch

Afrer buying my car used i put 25k miles on it,raced it etc.but after 2 4500-5000 dump it said no more.

I need a clutch that will handle at least
450rwhp
5500 dump-sidestep on slicks
and about 100 miles of street driving every week

looked up on search seems spec clutches dont like to be street driven,so spec is not an option.

also should I get an aluminum or steel or billet flywheel.

Give me the good and the bad input of your experience with clutches.want to do it right the first time but dont have 1400 to drop on a terexilia

Fly...we offer 7 different single disc options and 4 twin-disc options. Some are better for street use than others but thousands of people can attest to the user-friendly nature of our clutches. Based on the information that you provided I would suggest a 2+. Do you have any plans to increase output? If so, then perhaps a stage 3+ is a better option for you. You are welcome to let me know if you have any further questions and you can contact any of our dealers that sponsor this forum to place an order (T56, Tbyrn, WS6 Store, etc...). Thanks!

I beg to differ. I have a Spec Stg. 3, with a McCloud master cylinder, and I have yet to have any trouble on the street. It's handled many a clutch dump, and gets driven 100 miles every two weeks.

But if it's out of the question, I'd suggest a Cartek, or maybe an LS7?

i know plenty of people who daily drive with their spec clutches and have no complaints. Im getting a spec 3+ before long. whatever clutch you decide to go with I would recommend a billet flywheel their stronger and will hold up better under daily driving.

+1

I drive to and from the track on the new CARTEK clutch. Drove more then 40K miles on the precious two versions of their clutch with out any problems. Traffic, highway, street, stop and go what ever, all does it fine. And when I pull up to the line with 508RWHP and dump the clutch at 7000rpm... guess what? It grabs and does not slip through out the entire run wile powershifting.

I had a Spec 3 in my last set-up with 470rwhp. I have over 100 launches above 6,000 rpm on it with a MT 28x10.5. It's has never let me down.
From hard launching the hyd would get hot. I would always bleed it before and after each race day. Made a 1 inch hole in the floor pan near the gas pedal, use a 1/4“ rachet with a 4” extension and socket to reach the hyd bleeder and it would take less then 5 minutes to bleed. It would make a night and day difference on how it worked.
Took the last set-up out of the car and boy the clutch and flywheel looks great.
Street driving was good also.
For under 500rwhp I would put my old spec 3 right back in.
