Default Which part of my clutch hydraulics is bad?

I've been having clutch hydraulic problems for about a month now, (99 Z28). The clutch will leak down and the car will actually start moving if I hold the clutch down long enough, like at a stop light. Fast shifting is also out of the question. Pedal hangs, engagment gets closer to the floor, etc.

Now the question is. Which cylinder is causing the problem? Master or slave. I've had master cylinders do this to me before, but with all the slave issues these cars have could that be the most likely culprit?

No fluid is leaking out of the bellhousing or inside the car from the seals. I would hate to pull the tranny only to find out the master was leaking down.

Any input is welcome.

Thanks folks.

Is pedal pressure getting worse as the clutch starts to hang? I would expect that to be the m/c. Other wise i would think it's the slave.

It's always been kinda light. The pressure doesn't "seem" to change much. I've only owned this car since September and it's always had intermittant pedal hangs and such. It only started leaking down this past few weeks. It's getting noticably worse the more I drive it. Good thing is the clutch isn't slipping or doing anything strange yet, so hopefully I can save it before it ruins a clutch.

I agree with change them both
If thats the original equipment in there.
The slave is upgraded in 2001 and 02
the master is what your problem is right now unless you are loosing fluid
Just get them both are replace them
Tom
