ls7 clutch for H/C/I car?
would the ls7 clutch handle a heads/cam/intake car adn full bolt ons?
430rwhp/400+ torque.
what about at the track? im putting in a moser 9 inch in a month or so would it be able to handle it at the track? or should I go with something else ?
what about the tex oz700? its hard to pass up on the ls7 for $399 though.

i am about 99% positive that the LS7 wont hold up for too long at the track...obviously it is a great street cam with awesome grip and drivability but it depends on your set-up.....moser 9" usually means high rev dumped launches on slicks....and that will murder the LS7! After I do heads and cam i think im gonna buy a Spec3+ or a McLeod clutch.

i know man i hear all the horror stories too, but i hear 4x that in stories with no problem at all.....yes when the time comes if it is in my budget to get a McLeod or Twin Disc then i most definitely will. but for now i guess ill just keep my options open......either way like it or not the LS7 ain't gonna hold big launches on a 9". so your in the same boat as me! i haven't heard much about the textralia at the drag strip how is that?

You should be fine on this clutch as long as you don't abuse it with real sticky tires & hig RPM clutch dumps. You'll get a good amount of use out of it if you keep the launch RPM's down.
Now if you were gonna spray on top of that I'd suggest spending the extra on a Tex. clutch.

also to ls7junkie- the tex is suppose to be the best of both worlds...great pedal feel/length and can handle it at the track for everything under 600hp. then your suppose to step up to the twin disk....
$399 vs $979 however is a big jump in price for a clutch and i Know "you get what you pay for"
decisions.

At that price, I would get that ls7 clutch.. I honestly don't think you are making THAT much power to really NEED to get one that's stronger/more expensive than the ls7 setup...

I have around 13,000-15,000 miles on my ls7 clutch 413whp 380 trq and a i have ran a best of 11.6 with a 1.6 60ft i love it. Easy to shift, soft pedal and still grabbing like a ****! To me i say ls7 clutch but if you need something a little stronger texzilla is the only other way to go other then LS7 in my book

i mean arent the twin discs around 1100-1200 dollars??? if im gonna bump up to $1000 with shipping for a textralia, then why not just spend the dough once and get the best of the best?? that may be what i do....well see.

It's been in the car since March and I've put close to 6K miles on it. On motor with 3.42s() I would launch at 4500 on motor and it would bog. On N2O I would launch between 35-3800 and it was still bogging because of the 3.42s. The best the car has been on spray is 11.15 @ 129 with a 1.91 60 ft. This was shifting at 5500 and easing it off the line. But now that is solved since we just put some 4.11s in it. We're taking it to the track tomorrow night and hopefully it stays together long enough to run a 10.
