Sorry if its a noob question. I am used to a breaking in period of which you shouldn't run WOT, of around 500 miles. Is this true for all the aftermarket clutches out there?

Every clutch should have a break in period, some periods are just longer than others. Standard organic clutches will break in very fast, Kevlar and metalic disks normally take up to 500 miles. Every aftermarket maker will provide detailed information on how to break it in.

I doubled my break in period just to be safe... ran it for about 1000 miles before any hard driving...

From talking to a few other people from other sources, it sounds like the consenses is that all clutches need a break in period. Most seem to reccomend about 500 in town miles before any WOT or side-stepping the clutch. One shop said "the more miles you break it in for, the longer it will last in the end".
