I was thinking that with my set up, I will probally be maxed out in 4th gear before the end of the quarter mile mark. How much power will a stock Viper trans in 5th?? I want to keep mt 3:42s ( I know 3:08s would be better for DR) so I can still use 6th on the freeway.

How fast do you plan on trapping? What size tires are you gonna use and what is your redline?

5th will hold everything 1st thru 4th will, but why??? The overdrive will sap alot of horsepower. I tried a chassie dyno pull in 5th and it killed my numbers. You want to stay in 4th. Try raising the limiter some in 4th so you dont go on the limiter till at least the first MPH trap cone... Unless your motor is stock and your running 22inch tall tires.

I plan on trapping in the 140,s. 26.5" tires, and red line at 6500rpm. With my gears and HP level (800rwhp) I will be able to max out 4th gear at 138mph. Just wondering if 5th would hold the power??

150mph is 6500 RPMs on a 26.5 tire with 3.42 gears. What do you mean you will tap out at 138, are you running 3.73 gears now?

Gear the car accordingly to run "x" rpms at the finish line and do not use 5th gear at the track . Its an overdrive gear and can fail if used as a performance gear at the track .
