1st response to any clutch pedal issues is to change the fluid, and that's because that's also the most likely cause...its like the proverbial "check your o2s" when some one complains about thier motor suddenly acting wierd.
that would be my recommendation before you do anything else, it never hurt to eliminate the easy choices first, right?

Many issues have been noted w/ the McLeod adjustable master.
I know I have had problems w/ mine. I have rebuilt it & is all good, but will sometimes still be tempremental when cold.
It will have a little extra freeplay at those times, but nothing excessive.
A fluid flush does help alot IMO, have cured many minor complaints by doing just that.
That is like said above your first move.

mine has been doing this also. Same setup, only i have the 01 slave. Sometimes there is a good deal of play, other times not. I want to pull the master on one of my days off and bench bleed the hell out of it. And then sometimes it engages right off the floor, and then the damn thing engages at the top of the pedal. I am sooo tired of it. I'll be pissed it i mess up this clutch

I use a remote bleeder, & my mity-vac thru the bleeder end to pull it thru in the direction the fluid naturally flows.
I flush mine often, but the remote bleeder makes life real easy to do this.
The remote bleeder has to be installed on the slave prior to trans installion though.
It kept mine problem free for about 3 years now.
I have to run the McLeod, i have their twin & it dont like the stock master much
But It works real well for me once I understood how to maintain it
