I would suggest using RP syncromax fluid and not a synthetic ATF in the unit myself .

I'm using Mobil 1 ATF and its now a little easier going in gear. While it wasnt worlds different it was enough to notice. Dont expect anything big but still worth it to me.
This is what six speeds inc recommend also

I use Torco ATF...to me, it seems like it goes into gear better, but that could be my mind trying to convince me that I spent my money wisely (since it isn't cheap oil). At the very least, my cold-weather shifting seems to stay a little nicer than with standard ol' Dex III.

Steve; did you ever have the Mobil 1 in there?? If so, how does the Torco feel compared to the M1?

Yes...Mobil 1 was just prior to the Torco. The Torco was definitely smoother, but you know how subjective this topic is, so take the information for what it's worth. When I change my tranny fluid out here in the near future, I'll be putting Torco back in, so to me, it is worth the extra money and hassle of ordering it.

That is correct...they used to recommend it until they found out that Tremec wouldn't warranty anything in the T-56 if that fluid was used. That was enough to keep me away...getting my T-56 rebuilt was expensive enough.

I've tried shell ATF, some local no name ATF, Amsoil, and Mobil 1.

I've noticed little to no difference in shifting, only on my wallet. Right now Amsoil is in it. I used the cheap stuff to flush it out but ended up using it for a month because I was lazy to change it.

I now have it rebuilt with all the stage 1 parts off sixspeeds site, but when it was taken apart, the "paper" blocker rings that people were so worried about came out nice and normal for the age and mileage. Been using synthetic in it for almost 2 years during that as well.

I had RP in mine and thought it was getting the typical noise of age too soon. Nothing terrible but noise just the same. Of course I beat on it too. I switched to Mobil 1 about 2 years ago and the level of noise went down immediately and has remainded the same since. Haven't tried the Torco. Sounds interesting.

50% GF-2000 (same as SynGear II)

http://gforcetransmissions.com/accessories.asp

http://www.prostreetonline.com/x/syn...syngear-ii.asp

50% Syncromax ATF

I like the extra protection of the thicker GF-2000/Syngear-II.
It feels great cold as well.
(That's only SoCal cold though, so I'm not sure what to tell you snow climate guys.)

Is the Syngear 2/GForce 2000 much thicker than the GM/Pennzoil Synchromesh?? In other words, too thick to run a complete 4 qts.???

I believe G-Force transmissions runs it 100% on their custom gear transmissions.

They recommended for me to keep some ATF (at least 25%) to help with cold performance and providing some essential ATF detergent properties.

I ran 75/25 because I was trying to quiet my G-Force 5/6 gears.
50/50 would be their standard recommendation for stock gear boxes.

My trans really does shift nice with the stuff.
Even cold (SoCal cold though), it felt just fine, not even a hint of notchyness.
In cold climates, you might just need to let it warm up before shifting hard.

It flows amazingly well, but clearly is thicker than the water thin ATF.

Once you compare the 2 you will be scared to run pure ATF.
It's also red like ATF, so it's hard to really tell the diference visually.

Orange County Corvettes also said they run the 50/50 mix and even claimed turning G-Force on to SynGear II.
