Default LS7 Question

Ok, I'm thinking about getting the ls7/ls2 cutch combo. Is this a direct bolt in swap? Is there any shimming required?

I recommend a 1/8" slave shim/spacer. That's what I used and the clutch works great. If you want to go that route, you can get one at www.speedinc.com

As long as you have the complete kit (clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel), it is a direct bolt in. Be sure and replace your pilot bearing and slave cylinder/TO bearing while you're in there!

No shim here, and it works great. I have about 700 miles on it so far and I'm loving it.

No shim and the ls7 is a direct bolt up as long as you use and ls2 flywheel. NO SHIM!

How much power can the Ls7 clutch handle? Can it withstand the power of a 408?

Yes it is a direct bolt up, no shim is needed. Put mine in last spring and have plenty of miles on the combo from driving it all summer. Added the turbo's in the fall and over 4,000 miles on it with the turbo's. It is withstanding my 508rwhp/513rwtq so far.
