The easiest way to tell them appart is the design on the slave cylinder. The LS1 uses an internal slave that bolts down with two bolts around the input shaft. The LT1 uses a clutch fork design with an external slave. It has a throw out bearing sleeve made around the input shaft, but on the LS1 this is part of the slave cylinder itself.

Also, if the belhousing is included the LS1 will have a hole in the very top the LT1 will not.

The inputs are different, but the other differences will help you determine which is which at a glance.

Yes. You would need the front adapter plate and the input shaft to convert it over.

I actually have a used front plate and input if you're interested. They belong to a customer who's tranny decided to break the output shaft taking just about everything else with it. I'm sure he wouldn't mind selling a few of the good parts to help offset his loss. Shoot me a private message if you're interested.

The LT shaft is shorter. Buy a Tremec 1386-585-010 LS-1 shaft and front plat and you'll be good to go. I think D&D in Wixom, MI is the best place to get tremec parts.
