Default 97 & 98 trans difference?

Are all T-56's the same from 93-02? A guy at work said they are, I said not.

TIA

Ron

The LT1 uses a clutch fork, different bellhousing, input shaft and different front plate.

The LS1 uses a completely different front plate, input shaft and bellhousing.

I guess I should have word it this way: If I take out the trans from my 97 SS can I bolt it to the 98 Formula bellhousing?

Are the trans & bellhousing one piece?

You'd need to swap it to a 98-02 input shaft and front case plate, and to check endplay at that point.

Six or seven of the trans to bellhousing bolts line up fine. But even if you did that (please don't) you'd have the wrong length input shaft.

Exactly. Also the LS1 transmission uses a slave cylinder bolted to the transmission not the bellhousing. No you can't just bolt it up.

They are the same (as noted above) except for the 93 model which has a different gear ratio .
