Default My 6th gear only has 2 clicks to engage instead of 3

Normally, when shifting into any gear on the 98+ T-56 trannies you encounter 3 nudges/clicks to engage the car into gear. This is felt in every gear if you do it slowly you can feel the 3. Well, 1-5 have the 3 nudges/clicks but 6th gear only has 2. It has been this way since I bought the car from Tony. I have tested out 5 other LS1 T-56 powered cars and they all have the 3 clicks to engagement in every gear, including 6th. My question is, "Is there something that wasn't installed in this rebuilt tranny?"

Also, sometimes when I shift it into 6th, the full 2 clicks, I let on the clutch and nothing, it's not engaged. I'll have to re-engage the shifter to seat it again and then it'll work. I know all the gears require these 3 clicks/nudges to engage the gear properly.

Damn tranny.

Does it have an after market shifter with the adjusting nuts? If so you may want to see if that's holding it back. My B&M was the same way until I backed those out.

It has a Pro 5.0 with NO bump stops in it, the stops are removed.

How come Tony didn't have any of these problems? Just kidding! If I were you I would have the stops re-installed in the shifter. Without the stops, you can damage the internal stops.

I'll re-install the stops however I still don't know why the engagement of 6th gear is like this.
