Have tex twin. I have only 420 or so engine hp currently. My twin turbos are not installed. Doing a 408 hopefully next few months. I didn't like the tex much at first. It was pretty hard to drive in any heavy traffic. It has gotten better with mileage but it was a chore to put the mileage on it. I think have maybe two thousand or so miles on it now. The floater rattle is slightly annoying. It seems its louder when things are cold and then as car warms up it seems to get a bit quieter. Its only there when you press in the clutch so you really only notice it when at a light type of thing. I put it in neutral at lights.
I have cutout but its usually closed in town and pretty loud stereo .Both those things can drown out the floater rattle but really they should redesign like some of the other companies to stop the floater rattle. As for power handling. heard good and bad. Heard some guys are running good power thru their tex twins but aps the company that makes my twin kit said they had bad luck with a couple of tex twins. I sort of wish I would have got their triple. I have also heard good things about the spec twins and might give one a try if have no luck with current tex.
Also I like the idea of stock masters and slaves. Had mcleod master and not overly found of them. So for that reason think mcleod and ram use adjustable masters. Think spec and know tex uses stock hydraulics.

I finally got my Mcleod B&B street twin in the car. So far I love it. No chatter, grabs like a bitch, and no noise form the floater plate.

I run a RAM DD now. I must have gotten an earlier model because the stands are all metal and it rattles like a bitch. I understand the newer ones don't rattle.

I'm thinking about the textralia...i only have about 400 at the wheels but i will be always adding stuff to my car so I wanna plan ahead....

And also i think twin disks last longer since there is double the friction so less slippage right?????

ok, for all of you with the mcleod street twins....how many of you have the multifinger clutch as opposed to the 3 finger clutch?????

I spent a better part of 3 years driving around with mine that would NEVER fully disengage...sometimes it would for like 15 minutes, then back to bad. Now before you say I dont know how to bleed properly or what not, let it be known that we bench bled, reverse bled and conventionally bled till blue in the face. I called McLeod with this problem, they didnt want to hear about it even though I spent a ton of money on their crap. Now, I buy a ls6 clutch, swap that in, bleed it ONE TIME...works like a CHARM!!!

*I tried using original master, ls6 master, and mcleod adjustable master. I tried each of them with 2 new slave cylinders. NOTHING worked with that freekin 3 finger clutch. It seems to me that people with the multifinger clutch never had that problem...They would not help me fix the situation with that clutch, so now I am stuck with a 1200 dollar paperweight...is there any fix for that or is it just that this 3 finger clutch puts too much pressure on the slave to handle it and thus constantly somehow gets air in the line???

Any feedback would be GREATLY appreciated...no one has been able to help yet, I just think that the oem slave couldnt handle the pedal pressure from this 3 finger dual clutch...

thanks in advance!

^It's probably not gonna be the stock slave. My street twin works just fine with new gm slave and MC master. Sounds like you didnt adjust the master properly.

we used stock master, ls6 master, and mcleod master. We had the adjustable master adjusted all the way up, a few places in the middle, and all the way down to no avail...is your street twin a multi finger or 3 finger? When we had adjusted the master so that clutch engagement was really high (like 1/2 an inch from the beginning), after driving for 10 min or so, it would gradually make its way back to the bottom and start grabbing on the floor again...you name it, we tried it, then as soon as we put the ls6 clutch back in (only change was the clutch, NOTHING else), bled it conventionally ONE time in the car, and haven't had to touch anything since, works perfectly...

I have the Mcleod street twin with the borg and beck long 3 finger pressure plate. I am using a stock LS6 slave and master. Mine engages fine about 3/4 of the way up. Our company is direct with McLeod, B&M, and Hurst (all the same company now) try contacting our rep: Fred Taylor ftaylor@mcleodind.com
