Default What twin dsk clutch setup?

as the title says looking for a clutch that will last, be streetable, minimum floater plate rattle, etc. and is rebuild able.

mods in sig + 150 shot down the road w/ a 9 inch and slicks...high rev launches are in order.

I know all these clutches are overkill but I want this to last and not go thru clutches I was thinking of the ls7 and im just not sure it'll last at the track.

so the options are... in the poll looking at the big manufacturers, Textralia, RAM, Mcleod, etc...

I'll vote for the clutch not up there. SPEC twin, best clutch we've tested so far.

I have been running the ram for a year and a half now. I got mine when they first came out and I am extremely pleased with this clutch. When it does need replacing the same thing will go back in the car.

i have the eco skel and it is awesome other than the floater plate rattle. something like the the tex oz 700 should be more than adequate at your power level since they are rated for 700 ftlbs but it's your car. i have no clue about the other twins.

yeah but I plan on spraying, then a 408, etc. I dont' want to be replacing clutches left and right...+ twins are rebuildable.

and to the person who said spec....they are not even in contention and for obvious reasons.

the tex 0z700 is 979 from byun, the twin is only a little bit more.

looks like I'll be going w/ the exo-skel but I want to see how bad the floater rattle is in person...

already have a 408 with spray that is probably over 700 ftlbs at the wheels. if you plan on going the 408 on jug as well then go with the twin and as you said they aren't much higher.

had a ram street twin took a crap on me after 6000 mi and ram wouldn't stand behind it, they wanted $600 more for it to be rebuilt the pressure plate is no good.
bought a tex exo skel and love it. it's a little less noise than the ram and has a lot more grip and less pedal pressure and it's looks like its built better than the ram bigger stands, the floater is thicker and a better design on how the floater is held in. And they stand behind their product there are a ton of threads on their customer service.

Ill be trying either the McLeod RST or RXT. Id like to try the magnum force, but don't want to be the test dummy.

The problems I've found with Mcleod(except the disks falling apart) is that the splines on the disks are too small. They tend to eat up input shafts on high hp cars.

What obvious reason do you have that the spec twin disk isnt in contention with the others then???? Dont ask for peoples opinion and then try to say its wrong when they tell you...... when you have no personal experience with it yourself
