Default Anyone use Energy Suspension trany mount?

I bought one from the WS6 store, part number 3-1108/ 3-1132. Well the mechanic installed the mount but now there is a weird vibration coming from the under carriage. I took it back to the mechanic and he says he thinks the mount is too thick. He says its lifting up the trany and is causing the drive shaft to vibrate. Has this happened to anyone with this mount? Is it safe to drive the car?

The vibrations start once the car gets above 2k rpm. I called energy suspension and they said it could set off the knock sensor too.

I've had one on my car for about 1.5 yrs. I did NOT install the pre-load plate if my memory serves me correctly. I think that it would have made it too high as your describing.

I've had good results from mine, I like it.

I thought about that, you didnt have any problems installing it without the face? I'll give that a try.

It was just an additional plate that went between the actual poly bushing and the mounting surface, whether is was the trans, or the cross member. It's been a while, so it's not fresh in my mind. I just know I didn't use that plate, and have read where others didn't either.

But no, I didn't have any issues with how I installed it.

Do not use the plate. The ES mount is about 1/2 inch taller as it is, and will change your pinion angle. Try to shave down the two bumps on top, that makes it a little closer. Otherwise get used to the vibe.

I had to shave down the bumps in 2002 when I installed it. Sans plate.

I have Prothane motor mounts and trans mounts and only had a vibration when the weight broke off my old driveshaft. New shaft and 4.56 gears and no vibes.

Good luck, Tom
