LT1 twin plate clutch?
I have a dilemma to resolve and would appreciate some input.
I have a steel sfi 153 tooth flywheel & twin plate McLeod clutch and Valeo pressure plate which I believe all comes from the LT1 (I asked about this on the BB a while back) I also have a standard LS1 168 tooth flywheel and new starter. I have LS1 t56 and early t56 plus all hydraulics.
Somehow I would like to use this nearly new clutch assembly and save buying an LS1 McLeod.
If I redrill a hole or 2 on the LT1 flywheel it will fit the LS1 crank easily. I would need to find a different starter though to reach the smaller diameter flywheel. The clutch would all fit and presumably I could use the earlier t56?
Or should I mount the twin plate clutch onto the standard LS1 flywheel and then see which box will be suitable?
This is for a high boost turbo engine so I would like to get it right first time. Anybody done this or something similar? Thanks.
