never used one, i know alot of fast cars making big power on 10bolts with auto's but not worth a damn for a m6 with a damn good clutch as far as im conserned, i gotta a mini spool in it now with the piece's welded together, see how long that last befor i twist more axles.lol

A 2 step is worth it if you have the tire & suspension to utilize it IMO.
I've gotten mid 1.7's w/ nitto's at the track off of it. But I didn't really put to much track time into the combo, slicks are that much better.
I have also gotten 1.9's with my BFG's KDW's The one time I went to the track with them.
So yes IMO it is worth while.
But alot of tuning & adjusting to the track speaks volumes in the 60' time.
You can bump up the 2 step RPM, adjust the tire pressure, the burn out & the suspension etc.
At the track it is also nice stage & set the 2 step, i wait tfor the tree to start(non a pro tree) put the pedal down & dont lift until the finish line.
It can be tricky sometimes getting a heavy @$$ 6 speed car to launch hard, but fun none the less

I have a slightly bum left leg on top of it. The clutch itself really isn't that bad. I do not suggest trying to hold it in while sitting in traffic

I should have some 60ft's on 275 firehawk wide oval's (lol) by next weekend.

I've only had the Torsen in this car, so that's my only point of reference. However, for me, it's really been keeping an eye (or, rather, an ear) on the bearings (pinion, carrier and axle). The moment they start making noise is a sign of trouble. Changing the bearings has been cheap insurance and has kept the rear alive...so far. I don't have any delusions that it would preclude any catastrophic failure. It's only a matter of time.

Oh, and get rid of any wheel-hop. That is the surest path to destroying a rear (any rear!).

Oh, and my vote is for dumping. Slipping is probably better, but I've always been a dumper myself, lol
Before it broke in, it was a PIA, but after it broke in it's really not much different then stock. The pedal is a little stiffer and you feel the engagement which is why I kinda slip it if I leave hard cause I'm scared if I dump it and it hooks, the 10 bolt will explode.

I have been longing for a 12 bolt for such a long time. I know its worth it, its just that everytime I break my 10 bolt (4 times) I dont have the money to fix it. I hear they should be coming down in price because there are a few new rear ends coming out, I dont know what, thats what I've just heard. Anyone else heard anything of the sort?

1.78 60' - Slipped quickly at 4000 RPM with Spec 3, 385/345 to the wheels, 3680 lbs with me, Nittos, torque arm, 4.10s, stock tranny.

The clutch then died about two weeks later. The only reason I slipped was because the Nittos couldn't hold, so the car either bogged or spun like crazy. If you want the clutch to last and the best 60' times, get some real sticky tires, heat them up well, get a good suspension setup, and a strong rear (12-bolt, 9", etc), rev it up high and dump it. Slipping is going to kill the clutch fast and dumping without the previously mentioned parts is either going to kill the tires or the rear.

I dump mine at 5000rpm, anything less and the motors bogs a little. I can't wait to get back this spring with my 2-step set at 5500 and leave with my foot on the wood. Slipping a clutch can't be good....

12-bolt 3.73's, spec 3 plus, billet aluminum flywheel, ET streets.

Which 2-step do you run and how do you like? I bought a LPE unit. Just curious.

that aluminum flywheel, is the reason you must rev so high, loosing inersa ....but i see from your avatar you might have wanted it for road coarse maybe. but definatly would benifit from a heavier one at the drag strip

The car is definitely not optimzed for the strip. You are right a heavy flywheel would lower my launch rpm...but boy does it rev
