Exclamation Flywheel/clutch installation snag..

We hit a problem today installing my spec aluminum ls2 flywheel. I believe I have an ls7 clutch and was under the impression that the flywheel would be a direct replacement, but whenever we got it bolted up we saw something we hadn't realized. The old factory flywheel had 3 dowel pins (I think that's what they're called) which the clutch assembly slid up on before it was bolted in. The new flywheel has 2. The clutch only has the holes for the three to fit it.

I was wondering if it would be possible to drill a hole so that the clutch will fit on there, or if there is anything else I could possibly do to make it fit. I would rather not send this flywheel back and get a GM one. Any help would be appreciated.

I'll post up pictures as soon as I can to help explain better.

You should be fine to drill the hole, I cant see how it would matter as the bolts are the important part. I think the dowels are just to hold in place while installing the bolts. I had no problems when I did my clutch so cant really remember.

Idk if you've got an ls7 then, if it's an ls7 clutch and an ls2 flywheel, then they should work, so either you don't have an ls7 clutch or you got the wrong flywheel, can you post pics?

The original was the first, and I'm replacing it with the second. If the first picture is that of an ls1 flywheel then I'm dumbfounded why I have a receipt for an ls7 clutch being installed on the car. I bought the car with a receipt saying that an ls7 clutch was installed.

P.S. I'll post up pictures of the parts exactly tomorrow since I have to wake up pretty early for work and need to go to bed.

The first one is of an LS2 flywheel which works with an LS7 clutch. So if your car has whats pictured in the first pic than you have an LS7 clutch in the car. The second pic is of an LS1 flywheel which wont work with the LS7 clutch.
