SPEC 3+ kit... shim???
K guys, had my first Spec 3 lasted about 11k, didn't like it. Went to a RAM Powergrip, that totally sucked, clutch exploded with like 9k and 4-8 passes. Just had a Textralia, nice ride, soft pedal but big bucks but it lasted almost 2 years. Well heard a lot about SPEC 3+ so I figure I'd give it a try. Well ordered the kit and everyone says it should have a shim that came with it but there is none and neither TSP or WS6 Store (where I got it) has it listed in the kit. Nor do they have a listing for a Spec shim. Even SPEC-01 on this site said it should be shimmed. I'm pissed now cause my cars in the air and everything is on hold. What gives??? Any recommendations??
Thanks guys, I appreciate it.

Hey guys...I will be happy to send him a shim. I asked him to look beneath the pressure-plate to make sure it wasn't just somewhere else in the box. We send a shim inside every LS1 kit that we build...and it is very rare for a kit to ship without it. That being the case if he needs one...we have them. I just haven't heard back from him via IM but I didn't want anyone thinking I was leaving him hanging! Thanks!

Glad to hear you are will int to take care of him.
You said if the shim is not used the clutch will disengage closer to the floor but is that the only issue? Will the clutch slip or wear faster without the shim in there? I only ask because I have a buddy that didn't install the shim on his Camaro.

i have a shim here somewhere in my shop. it would take a minute to find it. lol yeah i got stupid and decided that it might be a good idea to just blow off putting the shim behind my slave and now im paying for it by having to get a new clutch.

Not using the shim would lead to a lack of release and thus a greater potential for wear for the transmission. If you needed it and didn't have it installed you would have issues shifting and a very low pedal. It should be pretty obvious!
