Default Transmission grinding going into 3rd.....?

A couple days ago, a old chevelle and porsche was messing with me, so we ended up racing a couple of times. i did a few pretty hard down shifts to second, going about 50 to 60 mph. after doing this about 6 or so times, my transmission just locked up. i couldnt get it out of gear for about 2 minutes, so i pulled off onto a street and tried getting it unstuck, after messing with it a little it finally came out. but wouldnt go into 1st or 2nd gear. anyways, it goes into those gears now, but whenever i shift from 2nd to 3rd, it grinds really bad. it doesnt do it if i down shift from 4th though. anyone know whats up with that. i would figure that the trans. would be a little tougher than that. anyone think it is possible to get the dealership to fix under warranty. oh, and on a side note, before any of this happened, my car would always come out of third gear when letting out on the clutch. (for example, i would shift from 1st to 3rd, and if i didnt keep pressure againstthe shifter, it would pop out of gear) any help would be appreciated. and sorry about the length. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Popping out of 3rd gear on the shifts is usually a problem related to synchros. The new problem may very well be a bent shift fork, that seems to be a common problem in T-56's that have been "romped on". Just tell the dealer that you don't know what is wrong with it and ask them to look at it (remove all the rubber from the rear quarter panels first). GOod luck!
