Why is it shifting hard?
I have a 99 TA with a 6 speed manual tranny and the past few weeks it has been shifting really hard. It is especially hard to shift into reverse and fist gear. i was wondering if anyone has had this problem or if anyone knows anything that I can do to fix this. Please let me know anything. Thanks.

Sounds like the clutch isnt disengaging all the way. Try bleeding your hydraulic system and using new fluid. If that doesnt fix it, you'll probably need to replace the slave at the bare minimum. 98-99 hydraulics are crappy. Its hard on the synchronizers when the clutch is dragging, so I wouldnt put it off too long.

The flywheel could have been resurfaced, but who know how bad it was. Just cuz you change your clutch doesn't mean you have to change the flywheel, but you do have to resurface.

Re: Why is it shifting hard?
I think i may be havin the same problem. Shifts really good when i drive it easy, but when im shifting around 6grand it seems to take it a split second to go into the next gear. Not so much 1st to 2nd, but 2nd to 3rd takes way too long. Seems like the clutch could just not be disengaging all the way. I have to push it to the floor to disengage it anyway, and it engages about 1 to 2 inches off the floor. I have a centerforce by the way. Anyone know what my problem could be?

a number of people have said to swap the stock master for an adjustable version with a larger bore (Mc Leod ). The larger bore will push more fluid and thus get the clutch to disengage faster (already did the drill mod a long time ago).....too bad its $250...
