Clutch, no go

Clutch, no go
Just finished putting my car back together after getting a new ceramic disc instead, since my SPEC stage V blew up. I have the same pressure plate, just resurfaced since it had iron all over it.
I am getting plenty of pressure in the lines. Enough for me to hear the pressure plate fingers going inward, if I listen closely. It seems to me like the pressure plate is going to the disengaged position, as I stop hearing any noise when the pedal is 3/4 of the way down. It could also be that I need an adjustable master cylinder. (I have a McLeod, but i don't trust it, so the re-drilled stocker is in there)
My main concern is that when the pressure plate was resurfaced, they took off too much and I may need shims now. I am going to install the McLeod, but I just wanted some further input on this, just incase. Thanks

Re: Clutch, no go
I know you probably don't want to hear this but SCRAP the SPEC. Get yourself a RAM 910 VDS clutch kit. It comes with:
910 iron disk for use with N2O
402 pressure plate
new GM slave
adjustable master cylinder
billet steel flywheel

Re: Clutch, no go
Well, I'm already on my 4th clutch. Stocker blew on the bottle, the McLeod would never shim properly, the SPEC V blew up. I am hoping that after a few hours of bleeding the lines that the SPEC V/IV will disengage correctly. I just need to find someone to give me a hand this week. I just spent all my funds on a new cam, and I really want to take the car out soon.
