Default shifting problems after 9'' install

Ever since I put the ford 9'' under my car, my tranny just hasn't been quite right. The problem is that when shifting easy into a gear you can really feel the engagement - like gear on gear, with a little "clunk" sound to it. Kind of hard to explain exactly - but a real solid metal feel instead of the "typical" feel I guess. I do have a pro5.0 so I know I am feeling a lot more than the stock shifter, but it was not like this pre-9''. Just looking for some thoughts/suggestions. Its not the end of the world, but I'd like to know whats going on.

Check the alignment angles between the rear and the trans, you could be preloading the trans with too much delta.

when I put my 9" in, my driveshaft was a tad too long. It would go in but wouldn't have hardly endplay. I tore up 4th gear twice because of this. Once I put in a shorter driveshaft and haven't had this problem since

I had the same feeling when I put that rear in my car. I got used to it, and never noticed it while driving normally. I would recheck the shaft length though as Fireball mentioned.
