Hurst Shifters...Questions
Hurst Shifters...Questions I bought my car used and I have always wondered, how can you tell if you have a factory hurst shifter? All I know is that it has a leather **** on it and an angle bend in it. Does anyone know how you can tell, and what are the benefits of having a hurst over the stock shifter.
Re: Hurst Shifters...Questions If it dosent have a "H" on top, its not a hurts. The hurst shifter is a little bit better than the regular shifter. But It really shines once you put a short stick on it.

Re: Hurst Shifters...Questions From my eperience, a stock hurst is nice. When you get the money an aftermarket B&M, hurst or Pro 5.0 is great. Bump Stops will save you A$$ big time in the long run. I have actually had A hurst Billet pro, 2 to be exact, both broke. Dont know how or why. My bud also had this problem. They both broke within 2 months of purchase. I now have B&m and have had it for about a year. I have gave it imortal hell and it still works great.

Re: Hurst Shifters...Questions The RPO option sticker should give clues as to whether or not your vehicle originally came with the optional Hurst shifter.
Many people don't like the factory Hurst shifter, because it has the rubber isolator on it. I bought my car with the standard gear shift lever, saved $350.00, and purchased the Hurst Billet Plus shifter for $160.00.
I have had it on my car for over a year now, and have had no problems with it.
