Default pilot bearing install

What the proper direction for the pilot bearing to be installed?

grease up the hole it goes in and tap it in with a rubber mallet, make sure it seats flush.

One side you see the rollers and one side you don't. The side you don't is a little chanfered, thought maybe so the shaft would go in easeir.

yep, the side with the slight bevel on the inside goes towards tranny

use a soft blow hammer or block of wood to install.

I've got my pilot bearing installed, but it's still sticking out maybe 1/2 mm. Does it need to go completely flush, because it doesn't seem to want to move at all now.
