I couldn't wait for them to release the new version, so I bought a slightly used Level 7. Great clutch! Hooked so well that the first time out I popped the posi.

Call Cartek to be sure, I was told by Cartek not to shim the slave. HOWEVER, because it is what I am accusomed to I shimmed the flywheel the same amt that the machine shop took off when they re-surfaced it. Like I said give them a call they will be able to help you out no problem....

NICE! You'll love it...

Having been the car that R&D'd the clutch, I know how awesome it is! i can shift that bad boy with a stock trans, with no effort at WOT @7000rpm

I think they only make 1 kind now, just options as far as LS1/LS6 or LS2/LS7 flywheel, and I think they still have unsprung hubs like mine.

Thumbs up

I've driven a few different cars with a Cartek clutch in them, awesome street manners as well as their already proven track performance/results.

I came into this section b/c im having issues with clutch pressure at high speeds/RPMs, but after reading this thread might end up going with a new Cartek clutch setup and seems like I wont have to worry bout that anymore!

Nope, you shouldnt have any issues with the clutch, it holds and holds. A friend of mine(why I got my Cartek in the first place) put 30k on one, Dozens and Dozens and Dozens of 10 sec passes with N20, and even more N/A passes, and then sold it to another friend who put 15k or so more on it plus MANY track runs before it finally let go.

Well I cant say I havent had good experience with my LS6 clutch with the mods I have in my sig, but there seems to keep being small problems like the one I mentioned before. But like it says in my sig, I have a NyTrex kit sitting round that I just havent gotten the motivation to put in, and once it does, I dont think the LS6 clutch will hold up anymore

Its an option...

As far as I know I was the only one to use the unsprung hub. I abuse that clutch more then any other of their customers, so they felt that I might as well have a slightly more aggressive version.

It seems like its a tiny been more "grabby" then the cars I have driven with the regular sprung hub. But since the pressure plate is the same in all cases, the pedal feel is the same. I did not notice any chatter from mine in comparison to the sprung hub either.

They are almost the same. Just mine is a little more aggressive on the engagement. But only fractionally. I think the choice was more for longevity... no springs in the hub, less stuff to wear out on those 7000rpm launches and shifts.

If you guys want to see how the clutch shifts, you can take a look at my you tube video.

There are some in car shots as well. Im shifting a STOCK T-56 with 65K miles at the time the vids were taken, with a CARTEK Clutch, CARTEK adjustable master cylinder, and stock slave cyl. Shifts are at 7000rpm at WOT, launches are mostly at 6200 to 6500rpm

IM telling you.. Its the smoothest clutch Ive ever drive/raced
