Z06 Clutch?
They are saying my 2000 SS will not be able to use a C5 Z06 Clutch. Is this correct??
I am reading here that I could even use a 07/08 LS7 clutch as long as I use the LS2 or LS7 flywheel.
Any help will be appreciated

This summer I put in the LS7 clutch and flywheel from scoggin dickey (a sponsor on this site) and it has been fantastic. They were great to deal with and cheaper then the local shops were offering for just the stock clutch. The shop that put it in said it was the nicest they had ever seen. If you do a search for scoggin dickey or LS7 clutch you should be able to find some more info.

thats not true... i purchased a LuK ls6 clutch from ebay for around 300 that came with flywheel, slave bearing, pilot bearing, and alignment tool ... has held up well for the past 5k miles ive put on it so far and im still able to chirp 4th with all the abuse that ive put it though... but then again ur putting out a whole lot more power than me so if ur considering one i sudgest that u altleast step up to a ls7....

Ah?
Am I missing something?? I postedthe thread because I was under the impression that a C5 Z06 clutch would work on a 2000 SS and the dealership believes otherwise. If had known for certain I would not have asked. As it turns out I have found out that an 07/08 LS7 clutch along with an LS2 flywheel will work fine.

It was more than likely said because of the power you are putting down. A stock LS6 clutch won't last
FYI: The LS2 and LS7 flywheels one in the same, they carry the same part number

C5 Z06 = LS6, LS6 = LS6 clutch, LS6 is good for the 405hp that the C5 Z06 puts down; but if you're gonna be crackin' close to 500hp, than it'd make to sense to get a clutch that won't be able to handle it...LS7 kit dumdumdum!!
