Yank pt4000, built 4l60
Description:
Doing some upgrading this winter. I'm going 4l80.
The converter is fairly new. Less then two thousand miles on it. I bought it in September, so it's got a free re stall on it.
I absolutely loved this converter, and I will have another for the 80.
The transmission has an issue however.
The issue does not affect how it works or runs. It'll still chirp second gear at the track with drag radials. And it'll hit third on the street with street tires, so it works, shifts through all gears and no burnt fluid. Nice and pink. The issue is the mid support bearing.
It vibrates in 1:1 because of the bearing.
Few options. Run it as is. It'll work. But it won't live forever.
Pull the output and change that bearing and put it back together. Clutches still have life
left.
Or full rebuild it. Has good hard parts, so just clutches and bearings.
For the converter I think 750 is fair. Plus it's got a free restall. Don't know how much yank charges, but I got quoted 262 bucks to have my vigilante restalled.
Not really sure what the transmission is worth. 400?
I also need to add that to transmission is set up with a "vac mod".
This gives the transmission full line pressure at all times. There is a noticable engagement into reverse and drive. The shifts are as hard as they can be whatever the throttle position or RPM. I didn't mind it one bit. I actually like the hard low rpm light throttle shifts, but that's just me. If you want to run it like this, then run a vacuum line to the nipple on the pan..easy. If you don't then plug the nipple on the pan...easy lol
