One Connecting Rod Seems To Have Got Hot
Crank Spun 2, 3, 4, But Can't Seem To Catch Fingernail On Any Of The Journals. I Believe It Just Needs To Be Polished.

Will Sell Complete Rotating Assembly For $1500 OBO ***SHIPPED***

Effect on the rods when " got hot" ? Bent, deformed, get weak? Due to the spoon bearings, do the rods sites on the rods need to be machined or something?

The rod that has had heat in it will need to be checked out moreso than the others. These a good chance that it will need to be honed…but then again, all used rods should be checked for roundness and stretch, as well as the rod bolts need to be length checked. It’s a part of buying used rods. No biggie.

I’m willing to bet that you did not use a narrow width rod bearing when this motor was originally assembled. This is why it failed. Many aftermarket crankshafts, like the K1, require narrow rod bearings due to the radius on the journal. Stock LS crankshafts are flat and can be run with a STD or narrow bearing.

the crank will need to be ground and polished before use.
