Description:
For sale is my latest hot rod.
1980 Camaro RS with a L92/4L60E combo. Making room for a new project.
Build thread on here. 1980 Camaro RS.
So basic details.
Bought it from the original owners son after the father passed away. 28K on it. Zero rust. Never hit. Originally a V6 manual 3 speed car.
The L92 is dressed like a LS3. Small cam. 225/230. Stainless headers. Yank 2800 stall converter. 3.73 gears. TruTrac posi. 1350 u-joints. 30 spline Moser axles. Axle tubes welded to the center section by a pro welder. All new front suspension parts. All new FEA parts. Howell ECM and wiring harness.
C5 front brakes. 1997 rear brakes. Hotckiss springs front and rear. Subframe connectors.-6 SS fuel and trans cooler lines. Tanks' fuel tank with a 255 Walbro fuel pump. C5 FFR.
18" TT2's all around.
Auto Meter gauges. Dash, console and seats are all original and in great shape. No cracks or cig burns. I replaced the head liner and carpet.
All trim is perfect.
Price is $42,000. Wire transfers only. No trades.
PM me with any questions.
A few pics.
Buy with confidence here folks. Jim is a legit guy who’s been in the business for a long time.
It was a great project because it such a nice car to start with. So crazy to find a no hit zero rust car in MN.
First project car I didn't strip the paint down to bare metal and repaint.
Just a few more pics.
All the courtsey lights work. Dome, foot lights and glove box. work.
Seat belt and key in the ignition buzzers work. Head light alarm works.
Seat belts and retractors are like new.
Original trunk liner. Original jack and jack handle.
If I decided to keep it I would put a bit bigger stall TC in it. It's very drive able but it does push a bit against the brakes. Speaking with Yank a 3200-3600 would of been a better choice.
Beautiful car. I am...seriously tempted.

Few more details.
All original weather strips in near perfect shape.
Doors open and close like new. Original hinges have never been reworked.
Trunk light works. It had a under hood light but I took it off. Still have it and it would go with the car.
I purchased an aftermarket rear sway and installed it. But it seemed to make the car ride much rougher so I took it off. It goes with the car.

I considered a TKX 5 speed combo at the beginning of the build but I'm getting bit older and with mostly around town driving the auto works better for me.
I had the 4L60E built by a local trans guy that only uses the best parts. As I have said above the TC could have a bit more stall. The ECM tuning doesn't allow lock up or OD until 45 mph. We have lots of 40 mph cruising roads around here.
But a number of years ago I built a 73 Z8 with a LS3/TKO 600 combo. Great car. On the Power Tour on the two lane black roads it got 20-22 mpg.
