Congrats man.
As far as I know the 14 is your call up number, they called up say 20 people to come in and he was number 14.
Lots of places that lay-off with the ability for re-hire or call back do the same thing but its based on senority. Longer you have been with the company the quicker you will get a call.

He's right, 14 was my call number. As in as they accept people, I am the 14th person on the list to get in. Being so high on the list I am already in though.
Thankfully apprentices have work for their apprentice term usually, so when I am done in 4 years there should be more work and less baby boomers. Also I have it lined up with a company who has city contracts and works year round.
Congrats man.

there is 44 apprentices on our books as of today. I checked. I am at the hospital in joliet St. Joes, which will be ending soon (dec.) and I hear from all the little "birdies" that there is no work for this company and things are slowing down everywhere. Im out of Local 176 and I know you guys (134) may or may not have more work than us. But just so you know, This does not mean go out and buy a brand new truck. over half of the people in my class (when I got in) bought a brand new truck the same time they got in... some of them didnt work for 6 months. Just for-warning you. Sorry to sound like a buzzkill but just dont do anything too hastey* sp.? lol Congrats on your letter though, I remember when I first got in, it was sooo overwhelming b/c I wanted it so bad. I was like 23 out of 900+ aswell. Hope everything goes good for you. I was laid off since dec. and I went back to work in august... thats a long f*cking time... so save the money you make for times like this...
