Default Ahh got pegged for missing an IL toll

They want to charge me $62.60!!! Is there any way I can just call em and tell my Ipass didn't record it? And get it knocked back down $1.00 toll or whatever it would have been?

This is my first offense, never blown a toll before. If I remember correctly I think I had the ipass in the corner of my windshield instead of mounted up top or something.

Anyone had this experience?

Have had some issues with I-Pass lately. Been fined twice both over a hundred dollars. They are having issues with the system just call them and it will be taken care of. Just don't get upset on the phone with who ever you talk to or It can become a long drawn out process or maybe it is because I am from Wisconsin.

i have had a ticket for over $700 and multiple around $300 got all the fines taken away.....just call them and tell them you recieved a fine in the mail, but you have an i-pass and they will take the fine off and charge your i-pass for the missed toll. happens to me all the time.

Sweetness!!! Yea actually turned the paper over and saw that it is for 3 violations. Over 6 months. Grand total in $2.60 worth of missed tolls. And an extra $60.00 for IDOT. I will call them Monday.

Hmm good point. I think the Ipass is still linked up with my old plate. This is a new car/plate. Hope that doesn't complicate things. Guess I'll call Ipass on Monday too!

yes, mine is wrapped up in tin foil in my car so it can't read it. This way if they don't get a good shot of my plate, they can't charge me. If they do, they just take it from my ipass account. I really does work out well.... lol

Also, a friend got hit with a ticket on his car. I called up and told the person I was barrowing a friends car and it must of not read my ipass. They just charge my account for the missing tolls, like $3, and he was all good.

hope that helps..

goodluck getting ahold of the tollway authority, you always get busy signals, i got one once paid it, about 6 months later they sent me another, now i had a different vehicle, yet they sent me a fine with a picture of the old vehiclle, for some reason, i think if i would have paid that second fine it wouyld have went straight to the "Rod Blagojevich Fund" damn crooks

Ya all your plates have to be registered with the I-pass. They are having problems with the system because it doesn't catch my car 25% of the time. I get a Laser alert on my radar when it doesn't register.

In case your driving and don't have the I-pass, you can pay the missed tolls online to avoid the fee. But I'm sure it has to be done within a certain frame.

3 days and it they fire off the letter on the third offense. Go to their website and change your old cars description/plates to the new one. Call them up (and be prepared to wait a looong time) They will waive the $20 per 'violation' fee, but charge you the toll on your I-Pass. Now, mine was having some sort of trouble and it could not be read by their equipment (and the solution is to swap it out with a new one with the Illinios Toll Authority as they own it). So...their equipment breaks down and I have to go through the hassle of getting it straightened out. Ok, life is like that sometimes. They waive the fee and then charge me the CASH price for the 3 tolls. Not the I-Pass rate (the cash rate is double the I-Pass rate). It is only $1.20 or something extra but total and complete bull. They won't budge off it.
