I've seen a few older Fords there over the years. What type of Formulas (3rd or 4th gen)?

I had a red 97 6 speed and a black 00 Ws6 A4. Dads is white 64 Fairlane 500 with 28,000 miles on it, always hanging with a black fairlane, blue chevelle and a red tri power goat vert.
Do you remember Minty 99? I raced him a few times in the 97. Back then it was pretty fast running 11.2s @120ish on the bottle

Was the blue Chevelle a '68 SS with TT2 wheels? And the GTO had plates that said "NICE GTO"?

Yes I remember Minty (Greg). To the best of my knowledge, he's been out of the scene for a very long time. Back in those days, my group used to hit Photo's with about 8-10 different F-bodies. I had a cammed/stalled/bolt-on '00 WS6 back then, and it was pretty much the slowest of our bunch. Our black Procharged WS6 was the car we used to campaign back then. It ran mid 10s at 130mph in street trim @ full weight. That was somewhat quick back in '02. It would be pretty slow by today's standards though.

A lot of people there do like to talk but when it comes down to running their cars on the street...it's a whole different story. I remember a few races were in the works but when it came down to running on the streets, someone bailed last minute

there were a few good races in joilet and rockford this year but thats a bit of a drive so unless more than one race was setup, I didn't go.

As far as Photos for me...most of the time, didn't bring a car. We may have occasionally brought my first car, '87 firebird formula, boy do I miss that car!! I couldn't tell you the years but Im sure we've crossed paths then without realizing it

I miss those days too.

I remember we used to leave Photo's and head to the Schaumburg region for some late night action, starting in the Barrington/Irving Park area. Good times.

Here's a really shitty night time pic taken at Photo's one night in the '02 timeframe. This was the '00 WS6 I used to roll in. It sounded mean, but it was just a 12.0 car:

whenever you volunteer to help me put it back I just got it on the lift yesterday, so hopefully by the time the snow melts I'll be all done. As long as this shortblock I got isn't totally screwed. The bearings looked a little beat, so we'll see what happens. Or it'll be motorless for 09 .....again.

I think I remember that race Mike, I'm surprised we didn't recognize each other when I came and bought the snowmobile from you.

I was in the same crew with Greg for a few years. when he got tired of racing and got out of it, I'm the one that put that entire car back to stock for him so he could sell the parts and the car. This had to have been 4 years ago now.

Yes, Frankie pretty much always drove Greg's car on the street in money races. He was a good driver, always knew how to win by a nose so folks would keep coming back for more lol. We made alot of money with Greg'scar back then, and he was daily driving that thing the whole time as well.

My cars not that fast...slow or fast, you just got to pick a fair race. I'm not a big fan of people racing where one person needs/asks for at least 6 cars. I remember this one race that was being setup where the one guy was wanting ten cars from the guy he was going to race. I don't see a point to that kind of stuff, esp. on the street.

All this talkin' is making me very inpatient for the car season to start, still a few months to go
