I love Chicago but **** is it expensive to live here and actually have a life. They try to get you for everything. I walked out to my truck in Lincoln Park a while back and got a $50 fine at 8:59 for the meter.

It Is Pretty $High$ To Have Fun In Chicago, but I'm pretty sure we love our city like the Texans love Texas.
My windows are usually down, and the tops are off during the summer, so I could care less about the law. The FINE is what's ridiculous. It's $100 if you run a red light, but double that for having tints? Well,... SOMEONE'S got to pay for Rod's lawyers.

yeah expect to pay more for red lights in the future too. Los Angeles charges 300 for those, wait for Mayor Gayley to come up w/ that one soon.
Tint laws are supposed to be for officer safety, but that's bull. Why don't they make you roll your windows down through the speaker before they approach the car, if they're so concerned about it.

Why? That city is a shithole filled with traffic, crime, and useless politicans that would better serve the public as toilet paper. I would never live in the city. Fun place to visit once in a while, though.
(yes, I realize that I only live one mile north of the city, but that's one mile out of King Daley's grasp)

I heard years ago..that the illinois tint law started...because a chicago cop got shot through a window he could not see in??? Any truth to this? Illinois has some dumb *** laws but i find it funny that you have to wear a seatbelt.... but you dont need to wear a helmet on a bike..lol yet

I wonder who we all could start writing to to see if we could get this "OLD" law changed so we could have tinted windows. Obviously other states....many other states dont have a problem with tinted windows so why is it such a big deal in IL?
