I was with my friend who was 23, and I am 20, and they asked to see my id for a 6 pack of heineken that he was buying.....like a 6 pack is going to do anything. Jewel is the worst place to buy booze...

I been working in grocery retail for about 13 years and they make us be very strict. We have to card anyone that appears under the age of 40. They woud rather loose a sale then deal with the fines by the county, etc.....I guess to me it really doesnt matter cause I only buy alcohol if im out at a club or something. Though I have seen alot of stores getting fined for undercovers they send in with expired id's, underage, etc....

I bought some wine for cooking at Jewel a few years ago and they carded me AND my wife. I couldn't believe it, if one of us hadn't been 21 they wouldn't sell to us. I got pissed and asked if I needed my sons ID too since he was about 8 months at the time. Jerks.
