Which platform are you looking to have built? LS1, LT1, SBC, BBC?

I recommend P.E.R. I was at their open house and speaking to randy about Mod motors for my uncle and cousin(damn ford fans) and my self on Ls based motors. I saw their shop and have talked to a few clients of theirs and if I had to do any work I would definately try them out!

There are alot of great sponsors that will build you an engine in the LS family. The only shop I've dealt with that builds LS platform engines in Chicago is Speed Inc. in Schaumburg.

There's also another place that does mostly Corvette stuff only but I'm sure they build LS series motors. I don't remember their name off the top of my head I'll have to get back to you on that one.

There are a few others who can build them but really specialize in BB or SB motors for drag apps. If you want those names You'll have to PM me since they are not sponsors.

What is your application for this engine Drag, road race, oval track, Daily Driver? What are your desired power levels?

Speed Inc. ok ill check them out....It's going to be a DD but I do plan on taking it to drag strip and oval track every summer...as for power levels...hmm im shooting for somewhere between 700-800hp..(money isn't an issue....rather take it slow buying piece by piece and doing it right the first time then putting in some cheap parts throwing the new engine into the car and then replacing those parts a year later because its not fast enough)

I would reconsider your power level for a DD.

700-800 horse would be great for a performance car but DD is going to be a little excessive if you ask me unless MPG and drivability don't bother you.

You're talking about a high price build with an LS motor putting out that power level. I'm not sure what your budget is but I hope it's healthy.

You're most likley going to need some sort of power adder. Either Nitrous oxide or a super/turbo charger. So keep that in mind.

I would give a call to speed and see what they can do for ya. With that kind of power level you're going to need a good trans and a good rear to handle it. Before you know it you'll be in the 30K range like I am.

I dont think SpeedInc builds their own engines. But dont quote me on it, I could be wrong. Good guys though!
