I see what your saying too, But he's converting the v6 to the LT1. Therefore he is going to be using the 93 pcm and wiring harness. Which is setup for the 700R4. Not the 4L60E.
So either he will need to get a new pcm and harness (out of a 94+ car) to run the 4L60E or he will have to run a 700R4 to be a complete swap that will bolt in and work.
Unless he modifies the 93 harness using the v6 harness, and then he will only need a pcm from a 94+ car.
Although, The 4L60E that is in the V6 Car may NOT work b/c it's for a V6. Sometimes there are slight differences in the Transmissions.
