Default How does unemployment work if hours cut to part time? - Ohio

I went to the Ohio unemployment website, but couldn't find the answer I was looking for.

I'm trying to find some information for my mother, since she isn't that computer literate.

Right now she is working full time.

This coming week, she will be reduced to part time, so no benefits, reduced pay, maximum of 28hrs/week.

Is she eligable for any type of unemployment? If so, how do I go about calculating what she would get, since it's no use calling, then just hang up.

Thanks guys, this economy sucks

If she is still working, even part time, she won't be eligible for any unemployment.

in order to collect unemployment in that situattion she would have to make less than she would get on unemployment and then she would get the difference only atleast thats how it is in IL.

I live in ohio, and had a co worker who was full time get cut to 28 hours I told her to file for the remainder she was not getting(use to be 40hours) she filed and got it...The next day they asked her to sign a paper stating she would go part time..or be laid off..Well she signed it and by doing so she is only garanteed 12 hours which they give her but she cant file any unemployement due ti her new "part time" status...So the only thing she is garanteed is 12 hours...Me personally I would not have signed any paper and have them lay me off and file unemployment..She would have made more

I just started a new job today and I'm going to have to report my wages to the unemployment offices. I'm sure they're just going to take out whatever I'm making. If that makes any sense .... but I'm sure if she files she might be able to get a partial. Not sure though.
