My brother lives down there and is having issues with his transmission in a Mercury Mountaineer. I need to get a shop to do the removal and install of the transmission for him. My plan is to have the trans pulled and then I will arrange the shipping to get it to Chicago. Build it and then dyno test it here. When it is done I will ship the trans back and my plan is to turn this around in less than a week. If you know of a good place to have this done please let me know. Thanks Vince

 

I live just north of there, 30 miles. Id recommend a shop called Illini Transmission, they did great work, quick service and wasn't over priced. They also built it up, with drag racing in mind(upgraded internals,etc)

Its not a trans shop, but another good shop is called Law Automotive, VERY top notch. They did some valvetrain diagnosis for me, and treated me right on the price as well. They're on Jefferson St., just a block off of Bruns Lane.
