i also had this happen.......retorked the pinion nut & most of the noise went away,it must have loosened up.
check and see if they punched the threads right by the nut, there will be a punch mark so the nut does not back off.

just an idea.

What kind of noise is it? You can usually tell the difference between a gear 'whine' or a bearing that is going bad, or improperly preloaded. If the pinion nut is not tight enough/too tight, the pinion bearing preload will not be set properly causing the bearing to (most likely) fail. If the wrong shims (wrong size(s)) are used, that will also have adverse effects on the bearings. The gear whine (if that is what you are hearing) is usually caused by backlash being too much or too little. You may not need to replace the gears just have someone look at it.

I would do it if I had the tools lol. I've done a few different rear ends successfully, but right now I just don't have the equipment to do it lol. Make sure you find someone that you know for a fact can do it right before you let them, my buddy just had his redone 3 times due to improper installation by shops that claimed they were the best haha.

No it was a red ss haha. If you're sure you have the tools and would like me to do it PM me and we can talk more about it. I am currently living in Lima OH for school, but go to Indiana every weekend so maybe we can work something out. Just let me know.
