I should be there opening day. I doubt I'll run, unless I come up with some cash and get rid of my snow tires for some drag radials. Anyway should be fun just to hang out at the track. And yes, OC Dragway is known for lack of track prep lol

I may swing up there, probably won't run any as I need to trace down some noise before I really run it hard. But I will come hang out.

This is soo true. Add .5-1 second to your time at OC.

I figured OC was a slower track but I honestly haven't run anywhere else to compare times. Watch out for the "bump" in the far lane about an 1/8th mile out lmao. I've heard bike guys complaining about it, and that it causes the front tire to come off the ground occasionally! I had a hard time hooking my mid/low 12 second fox body.. And it had no front sway bar, drag shocks and springs, skinnies up front with mickey Thompson drag radials, tubular control arms etc etc. Oh yea it was an auto too
Anyway I still love going to OC on Friday nights, been going there since I was like 10 lol

It is fun, close, and pretty inexpensive. If you ever have a wild hair, go on up to US131. I hooked up on street tires, and drove (1st time ever drag racing) my old LS1 Auto Formula to 4, 13.0x slips on street tires. I will be back in the area maybe by middle of summer. If I see a pewter z, I will say hi! I have a NBM WS6.

Exactly why I like it, super close, cheap, fun. I recently just moved to Indianapolis, but when I was living with my parents the track is literally 1 minute away. They have a place on Jefferson road along the river. If you ever cruise down Jefferson on a weekend you may see my car out.
Just by chance, do you happen to run black gnx wheels with drag radials on the rear of your nbm ws6?

I don't...mine appears completely stock...and mostly is. I live in Louisville right now, but come to Indy often. Make sure you come to the Purdue Cruise on the 9th. Its close!

Okay just curious, as I remember seeing a nbm t/a run a few times last summer.
I am definitely trying to go on the cruise. I went to the last one in the fall but brought my talon because I didnt have my Z yet. Looking foreword to it!

Well, if you guys want to run at the track.. Or off it.. I am game.

My car only has an axle back, tune, and CAI. I still managed a 12.34 at OC last year and clipped off a 12.0 flat at US 41.

Edit: it has lower control arms now too.

That's a good running car for what little mods it has. I think it would be a good run as soon as I get a stall and tune. Unfortunately that won't be until around summer time. My old 1g talon would have been a good run also. Clicked off a 12.44 @ 110 mph my first pass down the track with it at Osceola

Was it a brown or maroon colored talon? I remember seeing a pretty quick one there last year sometime.

never ran at osceola. always went to 41 but 41 sucks since papa norm died a few years back. To much politics and favorites there now. You can sit in line for an hour and watch the same guys run two or three times before they start letting your lane run. It gets very frustrating. I may go on the 3rd of april with you all if i get some new tires by then. Also I gotta depend on a friend or borrow a truck cuz mine is broke down currently and it won,t be done by then. my car is a trailer queen if i am racing.

I can't hook worth **** at OC...damn crappy track prep. Lol. Best run I could get was 13.3 at 108 w/ a 2.2X-2.3X 60' . That was w/ my mods in my sig but w/ my old tune and 17" wheels w/ 275 BFG KDW's w/ 4/32 of tread left. I have since got it dyno tuned and have new 18" BFW KDW2's in 295...not sure if it'll hook any better or not.

James, what tire did you have on the rear when you ran the 12.34? Looked to be pretty beefy...

The only decent track prep done at Osceola is for a weekend event, such as the Buick GN deal in September, and stuff like that.
This may sound like BS, but I honestly spun through 1st AND 2nd gear in my AWD talon at OC. And no it was not the clutch slipping lol. Granted I did have crappy street tires on it but I can't even spin near that much on the street. Track must have been greasy that day. I talk alot of crap about OC but I still love it

I'd like to try running at OC, I've only been to 41 multiple times and Muncie once. Will need to get a helmet and drive shaft safety loop first. Although all this talk of track prep isn't to promising.

No reason for me to try you again on the street cause I can't hang, but I'll give you another shot at me on the track, if I ever get my car out this year.... But I need a sticky track for that first 60' if I want to go fast.

I was running some M/T et streets 275/60/15's. I want to put some 325's on the rear sometime this years and see if that helps.

I think you should change the wheels in general...those stockers are pretty ugly. Lol. It's a good looking Stang, just needs better wheels

Still never understood why you never put good tires on the SS...afraid to snap the rear?

Yeah after I dumped all the money in the trans and the motor.. I could nto afford a rear end.

All this summer the stang will be driving around on bigs and littles. So you dont have to look at my ugly wheels lol.
