Not really concerned of a number but I just want to do it once and do it right. If I get a used ported Ls3 that's around 400 bux. So that leaves me at 400 bux shy of a FAST. so I'd just rather bite the bullet and wait til it's right you know?
It will be hard since the weather is breaking but oh well lol.
Thanks for the input though Fraser.

I like 1989+ third gens and my favorite would be the 1989 Turbo trans Am Pacecar. And the 1992 Z's. My first car when I turned 18 was a 93 Z from Rizza n I'm glad their outta business lol. The coolest kids that I know (Chris and sometimes Rob ) have a 102 and I've seen the insides. They have some pretty long *** runners.

...I kno its not really important, but it just made reading thru the thread really confusing as I kept thinking there were two different motors or something for a second. Looks nice tho, I keep only hearing great things from AES.
And at least u show ur enthusiasm, most people are just like, "hey guys, just dropped like 10k on this bad *** nasty motor that is going to destroy everything in town on 4 wheels but its just a little shiny sbc, nothing special..." haha Id be super pumped too no matter what, new+bigger in the same sentence of talking about my motor = win!

The 383 is alive!
Finally turned the key last night. Needed the tuner to install the numbers for the new 42lb green tops. Started right up; no leaks, noises, etc. Nice feeling after all the money spent.....
can't load a video from work; will try to tonight from home.

I'm in Central Il but haven't found a local LS builder so based on this thread and others decided to e-mail AES for a quote. While I haven't committed anything yet I thought it would be good to give some feedback on the experience so far. Fraser has been very responsive, consistently answering all questions within a day (usually around 8 PM) over four separate e-mails. Based on my limited other quotes is also competitive price wise. I started off thinking just short block but after the quote am now leaning strongly to have them do the complete long block. If they were local the engine would already be at their shop. The only thing limiting me now is that I'm ~200 miles south so still have to figure that out. More to come but so far experience has been very good with AES.
