where are you from? i'm from (when not at school) McHenry.. also like 10 minutes from the border. i don't disagree with the huge fines necessarily, but i do disagree with the jail time.. really? a couple of speeders are going to share an already overcrowded jail cell with people who actually commit violent crimes?

I dont know about you guys but ever since i have invested in the v1 radar, i have never gotten...caught..lol...I remember one time back in my 05 cobalt ss/sc, i was hammering it down 95th to 107th and lagrange road. I think i hit around 130 and then the v1 started going off. I quickly slowed down and i didnt even see the cop for another half mile ahead of me. So illinois laws sucks. That isnt gonna stop me from being rebellious.

it looks like the rule over 40 hasn't changed...
The new law has two important parts:
It makes speeding in excess of 30 miles per hour a Class B Misdemeanor with a penalty of up to six months in jail and a $1,500 fine.
It also denies court supervision for aggravated speeding.
Driving over 40 miles per hour or more over the limit remains a Class A Misdemeanor, which carries a penalty of up to one year in jail and a fine of $2,500.

Most IL highways are under-speed-limited and need to be raised. AZ has approved 80 MPH highways:

Red Light Cameras also need to be eliminated, who's only true purpose is revenue.
Another problem is people don't understand the fast lane is for OVERTAKING, funny, drive in England -- THEY understand it COMPLETELY, but Americans have no clue.
