I'm in Plymouth. Not too many MN people hang out in the regional forum. Your hugger orange car is only the second one I know of in MN. Jon has a 99 vert in Bloomington which is a sweet car.

YA i'm from minnesota too. I live in Anoka MN. I know actually quite a few people with ls1 powered beasts. If you have not check out hi-tech motorsports you should. Really high class shop located right here in MN. Brian (at hi tech) really knows his stuff...loves reverse split cams...after all he built peoples cars like Al CORDA's firebird.

With that said, the way of life here is good. People are generally nice and easy going, but a lot different than Texas. The closest track is 110 miles away in WI and sucks for traction; nothing like what you are used to in southern Texas. Because of the winters the race season lasts from April to October. There is a track here in MN, but does not cater to the weekened racers. There are two good tracks in Iowa, but one is 230 mile one way (good track), and the next is 280 miles one way (better track).
I'm not trying to scare you because I do like it here, but just trying to give you some insight.

Plan on a getting a winter beater to drive around.; the road salts used for traction during snow will ruin your car very fast.

Bloomington is a nice area. Although if your married the mall of america could be disastrous to your mod money. I have a cabin in SE MN near my house that I go to almost every day after work in the summer. I wakeboard, waterski, tube, kneeboard, and barefoot. I really like MN, even though I have nothing to compare it to.

I lived in Bloomington before moving to Plymouth. I used to wakeboard and kneeboard years ago and really miss it.I picked up snowboarding here but keep it very basic due to my age.
Waterbug1999 - If you move here I would recommend getting a winter beater asap. You can get a 4x4 SUV real cheap because there are so many. It's also nice to have another vehicle to drive when your main car is down getting modded.
Let us know.
