Gateway to reopen??
Gateway to reopen?? has anyone heard anything about GIR to reopen? ive heard a couple differnt things but not sure what to believe! one source told me they may open by late august/september, another told me next year and a differnt one told me they are still in the buying process.

yeah i agree!! i know a few guys who made the trip out to KC. its not a bad drive just a little too far to make a few runs lol. the next closest track i wanna say is 2 hours away and thats an 1/8th mile track

well thought i would share another good rumor i heard/read today. NHRA is releasing the 2012 schedule reportedly at the end of this week and sources say St. Louis is a stop in October! now is this true??? we will see in a few days

I just heard on the news this morning that Gateway has been leased for 1 year by a group of investers and they are trying to get it up and running again as early as this fall. we shall see......

GIR will have to be open and have racing events held this year in order to be on the NHRA schedule for next season. (according to the editor of Mustang 5.0 magazine who was at mustang muscle last night ). there is already people working at the track to make this happen!
