It would be an entire truck actually. A surplus crashed truck from the City of Midwest City. You could just pull the motor and trans and scrap the truck, they usually go for less than $1,000.
Edit: this is the EBay page, just check it periodically, the truck should be there soon (2-4 weeks) if you are even interested.

StillSlow I Pm'd you.
Have decided go big or go home so I will be in search of an aluminum 6.0 bare block and heads would be the perfect thing for me so I can build it all up on my own.
I'm sure this is said alot but cheap would be great trying to build a Texas mile car on a relatively low budget.

Dang everyone wants a 6.0 these days, maybe I should stick with a ls1 lol. But good luck with finding an aluminum block for chea lol. Not that I hope you don't just from what I have seen its a pretty penny for one.

I just prefer manual all together.
I've driven nothing but manual cars for years now.
I probably won't find a 6.0 for the price I want so I will probably end up going with an LQ at this point I only wanted aluminum for the weight savings as I'm looking to build a car for Texas Mile and will be trying to go 200+ with about 600rwhp or so.
And if I am unable to reach my goal then I will be going with a Procharger I'm sure but I would like to get a world record for fastest standing mile n/a foxbody.

I would hope so at least.
I would hope that I could set the record for the chassis itself.
If I couldn't set the record for the chassis because of an LSX motor I guess I'm SOL and I will be setting the record for myself haha.
I got one of my Ford magazines in recently showing a guy that did the Texas Mile in a fox making over 1000hp but he had full interior plus the weight of blower kit and all.
So I am going to make this poor car a tin can with a cage and built motor.
I would imagine his race weight was well over 3300 I'm looking for around 2700-2800 with me and a tank of fuel.

I will have 2.73s with a faceplated t56 behind a heavy breathing LS motor.
Just can't think of which motor would be best.
I think I will go with a LQ4/9, with high ported heads, Fast102 intake, high lift cam (.600) or better long tubes and nothing but an alternator pulling drag off the motor.
I will have a body pan and lots of other aero to get as low to the ground as I can "safely".

Hell yea dude, that's gunna be a badass setup. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to run that fast. I'm just not 100% if those gears will get you there fast enough, it will get there just not sure within a mile lol

We will see.
I have been tossing around whether or not to go ahead and give it some happy gas for the home stretch (the last 50mph or so) I would think of I could get a good 500+rwhp and my torque right in that area that it would climb nicely.

I need to get my chassis and then I think it's looking like a year or so project so by the middle or so of next year I hope.
The reason I came to this forum was to find some info on what type of motor I should go with that wont kill me budget wise.
The most expensive thing I want on the entire build is my rotating assembly and transmission I want those to be my highest expense.

Have you thought maybe a 5.3? I know that's not the normal route but its half the price of a 6.0. Tsp has all kinds of forged rotating assemblies in all different ranges but all cost like $1200+ then I think it's close to the same for a heads cam combo, $2000 if you buy a 102/102 setup new. But at that point you will have probably broke the 600hp range. I have seen small cam, with l92's and ls3 mani lq4 hit close to 500 crank hp. So a good size cam and intake setup you will gold
