I didn't realize that.
I only was thinking of the LQ4/9 because of shear displacement in itself but that's where I'm a noob I don't know what would make the power better that I'm looking for.
I'm completely new to push rod and don't know which motor/setup would be good for high revving and good power band that isn't a 12k motor.
I know I'm asking for a lot it seems but I don't want to get 30k+ into a car like that.

Yea I would just google like lq4 budget build and look at what they spent. A good number reused the bottom end to save money. But then there is like gmhtp that fully built there's for like $10,000. You can make mad power and stay in a decent budget if you look for used stuff and do most of it yourself

If anyone has a good suggestion on a motor setup, that would be great that is definitely where I'm lacking I know what I'm doing with everything else (for the most part) I am new to pushrod motors and until recently would have sworn by OHC motors until I saw the shear power LS based motors make right out of the box.

Yea dude im ******* stoked... I have been out with them a few times but they use to be very hush hush. Like you had to be in Chiefs good graces to even know something was going to happen let alone get to go. Its gunna be crazy to see them on national tv and not on there site or dvd haha

Yes they are for real. They had to change the way they normally do some things for the show for legal reasons. But they are real and the seriousness they take their racing is very real. And their cars are incredibly fast.

Yea it was a lot different on tv then it is in person. But still good tv. Also it wasn't to far fetched a lot of that is how it goes down by a cash days video the only difference is the lighting and no talking... But they aren't trying to spread it out for a full season

Does anyone or know anyone that's does port work for cheap? Just mainly trying to freshen up the heads and get a little more power.
Also any tips on installing a cam and springs? I haven't done one in awhile and never on a ls motor.
