Default 93 octane in MN along 65/10 North of the cities?

Hey all,

I'm about to move to MN but will get my car tuned here in TX before heading up there. Is there any 93 to be had North of the cities? Thinking about living around Princeton, Anoka or Cambridge and will be commuting to the Fridley/Columbia Heights area.

I remember from living there before and traveling it was lower, but didn't care at the time so I could be wrong. Just curious if I should have it tuned for 93 or 91 octane.

Thanks

I would say maybe 91. There is a station in North St Paul that sells racing fuel at a higher octane . But I wouldn't drive from north burbs to there to get it.

Come to think again. Go see the guys at TPIS in Chaska. They are doing some great things with E85. Or check out what they do at TPIS.com.

You can do 93 but it be easier to find the 91 since they're everywhere. E-85 is around but it's a PITA going places and not knowing if they have any E85 stations around.

I downloaded a few fuel price/locator apps to my phone and E85 seems to be available at several stations along my commute so that shouldn't be an issue. More worried about the cold winters and ability to start the car. Shot of an email to TPIS, we'll see what they can do. Is it common for gas stations in MN switch to E70 without informing the public when it starts getting cold?

Thanks for the replies.

Most BP Stations have 93 E10 and the one by my house has 91 clear (no ethanol).

They won't tell ya when they drop to E70. You just need a tester to tell.
